Trust in Small Business Vision Statement:
Trust in Small Business is a member-driven political action committee committed to electing champions of small business to public office. Not a lobbying or public policy organization, Trust in Small Business devotes the bulk of its resources to directly helping political candidates win competitive elections, as opposed to funding a Washington bureaucracy. We support candidates for federal office who have demonstrated a clear ability and willingness to stand up and fight for America’s small businesses, which employ over 60 million people and account for over half of our nation’s GDP.
Message Formulation:
Trust in Small Business is a member-driven political action committee committed to electing champions of small business to public office.
How is Trust in Small Business different than other business organizations?
- We’re about small business and only small business.
- Small business accounts for over half the nation’s economy (GDP) and employs over 60 million people.
- Small business is the engine that drives the American economy.
- We need public officials who understand the importance small businesses and the jobs they create in our economy.
- That’s why we created a member-driven, nonpartisan political action committee to support candidates who don’t just give lip service to small business but who will actually stand up and fight for us.
- We’re about winning elections that matter, not building a Washington bureaucracy. That’s why the bulk of our resources will always be devoted to direct campaign assistance, not administration.
What are the criteria you use to determine who you support?
- We listen to small business people across the nation and find out what they want and need to survive and grow.
- We look for candidates who will be champions of small business.
- We don’t want lip service. We help candidates of either party who have shown a clear willingness to be leaders for small business.
- We support electable candidates in competitive races where our help can make the most difference.
